Get ready for an explosive Sunday showdown at LIV Golf Adelaide! A thrilling tie for the lead has set the stage for an epic final round.
In a highly anticipated development, golf superstars Rahm and DeChambeau will go head-to-head in the final pairing, marking their first such encounter since LIV Golf Las Vegas in 2024. This promises to be one of the most exciting finales in LIV Golf history.
"I'm thrilled for the opportunity and hope we put on a show," Rahm said. "May the best player win, and I'm sure it'll be a memorable day."
Adding to the excitement, Anthony Kim, the newest member of 4Aces GC, is hot on their trail. He shot an impressive 4-under 68, putting him in solo third place, just five shots behind the leaders. Kim will join Rahm and DeChambeau in the final group, aiming for his first top-10 finish in LIV Golf.
But here's where it gets controversial... Three players are tied for fourth, lurking just outside the top three. Cameron Smith of Ripper GC made a remarkable comeback with an 8-under 64. He's joined by Peter Uihlein of RangeGoats GC and Lucas Herbert of Ripper GC, both of whom shot 5-under 67. Smith's short game clinic kept Ripper GC in the running.
"I felt confident out there," Smith shared. "My irons were a bit scrappy, but my short game and putting were on point."
Meanwhile, Ben Campbell of RangeGoats GC, who played with Rahm and DeChambeau in Round 3, struggled to an even-par 72, dropping him to a tie for seventh, seven shots behind the leaders.
And this is the part most people miss... Legion XIII has surged ahead in the team leaderboard, building a commanding five-stroke lead over Ripper GC. Tyrrell Hatton, Caleb Surratt, and Tom McKibbin all contributed solid rounds for Legion XIII, while Smith and Herbert led the scoring for the Rippers.
The overall scoring average for Round 3 was similar to Round 2 at -2.91. Hole Nos. 2, 5, 16, and 17 played slightly over par, while the par-4 eighth hole, which was the toughest in Round 2, became the second-easiest in Round 3 after the tees were moved up (-0.49). The easiest hole was the par-5 10th, playing at -0.60.
