Arkansas just scored a huge in-state win — and it’s stirring up plenty of conversation.
Little Rock Central’s three-star defensive lineman Anthony Kennedy Jr. has officially committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks, according to a report from Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. His decision comes shortly after backing away from his previous pledge to Miami — marking the second time the talented lineman has switched his commitment in the ongoing 2026 recruiting cycle.
Kennedy, ranked as the No. 425 overall prospect and No. 46 defensive lineman nationwide according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, is also considered the No. 4 prospect in Arkansas. That makes his choice to stay home especially meaningful for new head coach Ryan Silverfield, who’s working to fortify the Razorbacks’ local recruiting efforts. But here’s where it gets interesting: Kennedy had been locked in with Miami since June, yet just after Thanksgiving, the two sides quietly went their separate ways. Among the newest additions, Wynne Cross County’s four-star defensive lineman Danny Beale III leads the way. The former Oklahoma State commit — who also considered Missouri — became the first domino to fall on Monday. Ranked No. 199 nationally and No. 23 among defensive linemen, Beale’s decision set off a cascade of recruiting momentum across the Natural State.
Soon after, Bryant four-star running back TJ Hodges flipped from Missouri, followed closely by his hometown teammate, three-star linebacker Jakore Smith, who had once been pledged to Oklahoma. Hodges brings serious firepower to Arkansas’ offense as the No. 20 running back in the nation. Each commitment strengthens the Razorbacks’ 2026 class, which now sits at No. 48 nationally, according to Rivals’ updated team rankings.
